Brent Angevine and Scott Fraser started home brewing in 1995 in a house in the Steam Mill section of Bethel. That’s where the name of the brewery originated. They are committed to using local ingredients in their beers. They currently use 75% Maine malt in their beer. They use Mapleton Malt and Blue Ox as their base malt. They use local hops grown in Bethel to provide superior freshness. As native Bethel residents, they utilize local landmarks for their beer names such as: Intervale Ale, Paradise Perle, Overset RyePA and Alder River Red.
