History
Milo and the surrounding area has a long rich train history in fact it still has active tracks and large train yard in nearby Brownville. The local Jr high’s mascot is the Railroaders. So it was a no brainer for business partners Tracy and John to name the brewery after a local staple and industry that keeps this rural Maine town humming. Tracy & John purchased the old Bissell Brothers Three Rivers location in the fall of 2025 and opened the Rusty Rail taproom where local beers wines and spirits are highlighted in January of 2026. Brewing operations in the Rail Yard Brewing portion of the building started in April of 2026, John will be brewing beer for both Rail Yard Brewing the Rusty Rail taproom and Two Knights Brewing (TKB) in Sangerville, Maine.
Rail Yard Brewing is on the outskirts of some of the best scenic day trips and weekend camping getaways the Maine Highland’s and north Maine woods has to offer. So the next time you are exploring our neck of the woods we hope you pay us a visit and partake in what the local breweries wineries and distilleries have to offer.
