Definitive Brewing Company

Definitive Brewing was formed in 2017 by a group of friends and family all with ties to Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, ME. To many, ‘Definitive’ means to reach a conclusion decisively and with authority. At Definitive Brewing we encompass this meaning as we strive to make amazing beer, continually innovating, determined to make each batch better than the last. Our name serves as a reminder to us every day that our beer will never be perfect, but that we must strive for perfection in order to provide our customers with the most memorable drinking experience possible.

At our flagship location on the legendary Industrial Way in Portland, we converted a scaffolding company into our production brewery and tasting room. Across the street from Allagash, we are in the heart of Portland’s beer mecca. We opened this location on May 19, 2018 and continue to welcome thousands of guests to enjoy pours in our tasting room and on outdoor patios each year.

Our second location is in Maine’s southernmost town, Kittery, in the heart of the shopping district. We opened this location on May 22, 2020 as an avenue for southern Maine, and our many loyal fans in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and beyond, to have more convenient access to our beer. Kittery is a pillar in Maine’s food and beverage scene, and the opportunity to become part of this town was one that we could not pass up.

For years we have dreamed of combining our love of beer, food, and Maine’s iconic mountain region. On December 26, 2021 we opened Definitive Brewing Company featuring the Phoenix Kitchen just a few hundred feet from the South Ridge base lodge at Sunday River Resort. Whether it’s après ski, après golf, or après mountain adventure, we are the go-to place for craft beer and delicious American-style cuisine.

Our mission to make great beer and provide a memorable experience for our guests is illustrated at all our locations by our wide variety of beers. Be it our double fruited sours, pastry stouts, hazy Maine IPAs, and real fruit seltzers, or more classic styles like our kölsch (Contee), we have something for everyone to enjoy. Pair our beer with our large patios in Portland, the outlet shopping centers in Kittery, or the remarkable views of the Mahoosuc Mountain Range, and we promise you’ll enjoy your visit!
